Ramadan Lights

In celebration of Ramadan, our children visited Piccadilly Circus to see the stunning light display, providing a meaningful opportunity to explore different cultures and traditions. With some of our families and staff observing Ramadan, this experience fostered cultural awareness, inclusivity, and respect, aligning with the British Value of mutual respect and tolerance by encouraging conversations about diverse celebrations.

This experience also supported cultural capital, expanding children’s understanding of the world beyond their immediate environment and helping them make connections between different customs and celebrations.

The vibrant colours of the display sparked curiosity, leading to exploratory painting activities back at the nursery, where children experimented with shades and patterns to express their interpretations.
