During our morning walks, children enjoy a warm babyccino, our staff created a pretend “Pret Office Shop” to enrich learning through play.
This activity fosters cultural capital by connecting real-world experiences with role-play as baristas, grinding “coffee beans” (Coco Pops) using wooden mallets, expanding vocabulary, and introducing early financial literacy. It promotes turn-taking, understanding rules, and respectful interactions.
It supports communication & language by expanding on and using new vocabulary, the children enjoyed counting, measuring, poring and filling and more. Children enjoy role-play experiences especially when it relates to their world as it brings up memories which they enjoy sharing with teachers and their friends.
Through hands-on learning, children develop confidence, creativity, and essential life skills in a fun and meaningful way. This is such a fun way we keep warm in the colder months. – January 2025
